CBSE Class 12 2020 Update : Optional Exams In September; Application Open Till August 22

Central Board of Secondary Education, or CBSE, has opened the optional exam application window for the students whose exams were scheduled from July 1 to July 15.

The Central Board of Secondary Education, or CBSE, will allow students to improve their scores of Class 12 exams with the improvement tests. These optional improvement tests are scheduled in September. Students who were marked on the basis of the alternate assessment scheme can apply online for the improvement test and appear for the exams. The application window for the process of improvement will remain open till August 22, 2020, upto 5 pm.

“Candidates whose result has been declared based on the assessment scheme in the subjects for which examination was scheduled from 1st July 2020 to 15th July 2020 and wish to improve their performance [are eligible for CBSE Class 12 improvement exams],” read a CBSE statement.

The statement further added: “The marks obtained by a candidate in these optional examinations will be treated as final for those who have opted to take these examinations.”

The CBSE Class 12 results were declared on July 13, 2020. As many as 10,59,080 have passed the exams out of the total 11,92,961 students. The pass percentage this year for CBSE Class 12 results is 88.78%.

Candidates can download the CBSE improvement exams admit cards from cbse.nic.in once they are released by the board. The details of the application process including improvement form, exam fees are mentioned in the official website of the board.

CBSE Class 12 Improvement Exam Application Steps

I. Visit the CBSE website -- www.cbse.nic.in and click on the link designated for improvement exams

II. Insert roll numbers, school numbers, centre numbers. as mentioned in the CBSE Class 12 admit cards

III. Enter the address and select the subjects

IV. Submit the application and note down “Application ID”

V. Upload a recent colour photograph and signature in the prescribed format

VI. Submit the application form

National Education Policy 2020 : All You Need to Know

The Union Cabinet on Wednesday approved the New Education Policy and renamed the ministry of human resource and development as the ministry of education. The new policy would also see an overhaul of the system in place in higher education. Following the new education policy and reforms, India will achieve 50% Gross Enrollment Ratio by 2035, the ministry said.

The Union Cabinet on Wednesday approved the New Education Policy (NEP). One of the major decision, the Cabinet has renamed the Ministry of Human Resource and Development (MHRD) as the Ministry of Education.

"The Cabinet meeting is chaired by the Prime Minister Mr Narender Modi," said I&B Minister Prakash Javedkar. The decision of changing the name of the ministry was done as per the recommendations listed in the draft on new education policy, which suggested it to bring the focus back on education and learning.

The new policy would also see an overhaul of the system in place in higher education.

"As on date, we have different norms for deemed universities, central universities, for different individual standalone institutions. New Education Policy says that for reasons of quality, norms will be same for all & not as per ownership," said Amit Khare, Higher Education Secretary.

CBSE 12th Result 2020 : Apply For Re-Verification Of Marks Till July 21

CBSE 12th Result 2020: Students can verify and apply for revaluation of CBSE Class 12 marks from July 17. The Central Board of Secondary Education, or CBSE, had declared the CBSE Class 12th result on July 13, 2020.

The Central Board of Secondary Education, or CBSE, will allow students to apply for verification of marks, obtaining photocopies of it and revaluation of answers. The CBSE Class 12 results were declared on Monday, July 13. Students unsatisfied with the CBSE Class 12th results can apply online for the verification and revaluation for the subjects whose exams were held as per schedule before the commencement of lockdown. Students can apply for CBSE verification between July 7 and July 21. The photocopies of the answer sheets of the verified subjects can be obtained by applying online at the CBSE website on August 1-2, 2020 and online application for revaluation of answers can be done between August 6 and August 7.

The CBSE 2020 Class 12 result witnessed an increase in the pass percentage from last year. The overall pass percentage of CBSE Class 12th this year stood at 88.78 per cent.

How To Apply For CBSE Class 12 Verification

Students can apply for the verification of CBSE answer sheets at the official website of the board. Students are to register on the CBSE website, mention the details as required and pay the CBSE verification fees of Rs 500 for each subject for applying for the verification process. There is no bar on the number of subjects to be verified.

STEPS

Step 1: Visit CBSE website

Step 2: Register with the roll number and stream as mentioned in the CBSE Class 12 admit card

Step 3: Mention the subjects to be revaluated

Step 4: Provide other required details

Step 5: Pay the fees

Step 6: Submit the application

As per a CBSE statement, in an increase or decrease in the CBSE Class 12 marks, students have to surrender their mark sheets and the board will issue a new one.
