Twice-a-Year Exams from 2026

CBSE Class 10 board exams will be held in February & May each year.

First Exam Mandatory, Second Optional

First exam is compulsory; second is optional for improving marks.

Best Score Retained

The higher score from both attempts will be counted.

Eligibility for Second Exam

Students must attempt at least 3 subjects in the first phase.

No Change in Syllabus/Pattern

Both exams follow the full syllabus & same pattern.

Special Provisions for Certain Students

Flexibility for sportspersons, winter schools & CWSN students.

Single Internal Assessment

Internal assessment will be conducted only once a year.

Separate Registration for Both Exams

Fresh registration needed for second exam; no new entries allowed.

Post-Result Services After 2nd Phase

Re-evaluation & verification open only after second exam results.
