CBSE Introduces Mandatory Three Language Policy for Classes 9–10 Starting July 2026
CBSE has made the three-language formula mandatory for Classes 9 and 10 from July 1, 2026. The third language (R3) won't have a Board exam — all assessments will be school-based. Textbooks for R3 aren't ready yet, so schools will use Class 6-level books for now. CBSE has also allowed flexibility in teacher arrangements and offered relaxations for special cases.
