The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has updated the Class 12 exam pattern for 2025. The new pattern will include more competency-based questions, focusing on assessing students' thinking skills. The number of objective, case study, and reasoning-based questions has increased, while the number of short and long-answer questions has been reduced. This change aims to improve students' understanding and application of concepts in real-life situations.
50% Competency-Based Questions
In the 2025 exam, 50% of the questions will be competency-based, assessing critical thinking and analytical skills. The number of short and long-answer questions will be limited to 30%, encouraging students to focus on reasoning rather than memorization. This is an increase from the previous 40% competency-based question format, with short-answer questions reduced from 40% to 30%.
