NEET Eligibility Criteria 2026
NEET Entrance Examination is one of the most prestigious examinations. Therefore NEET NTA has set some criteria or conditions for participants of the NEET Test. The criteria are based on the following things
Basic Eligibility Criteria for NEET 2026
- Applicants should be at least 17 years old as of 31 December, of the year of admission. The upper age limit is not decided yet. Therefore students above the age of 25 can attend the exam provisionally.
- Students from India, NRI, or OCI (Overseas Citizens of India) can participate in the NEET Entrance Test.
- Students must have passed the class 12th examination with the Physics, Chemistry, and Biology subjects.
- There are Quotas as well based on State, Caste, and PWD.
- Students from the general category are required to pass the 10+2 with at least 50% of marks, with a disability or PWD 45% of marks is the minimum requirement to fill the NEET Form, Students from OBC/SC/ST must have passed the 10+2 examination with 45% marks in case of physically handicapped from the OBC/SC/ST they can get the benefits of 5% of marks, eams they must have to pass their intermediate examination with 40% at least.
- The number of attempts is not announced. Students can attempt the examination as many times as they want.
NEET 2026 Registration
Filling out the NEET 2026 registration form is the very first step to participating in the NEET test. In the previous year, the registration process had some changes and according to that students had to register in two steps which should be done by using the online methods. A few places such as Andaman Nicobar had offline processes for NEET form filling. The students from such states have to register themself by visiting the nearest nodal centre.
