Asexual reproduction is a type of reproduction by which offspring arise from a single organism, and inherit the genes of that parent only; it does not involve the fusion of gametes, and almost never changes the number of chromosomes. It allows new generations to be created from a single individual.

In tissue culture, new plants are grown by removing tissue or separating cells from the growing tip of a plant. The cells are then placed in an artificial medium where they divide rapidly to form a small group of cells or callus. The callus is transferred to another medium containing hormones for growth and differentiation. The plantlets are then placed in the soil so that they can grow into mature plants. Using tissue culture, many plants can be grown from one parent in disease-free conditions. This technique is commonly used for ornamental plants.

• The male reproductive system consists of portions (testes) that produce the germ-cells (sperms).

• The sperms formed are delivered through the vas deferens which unites with a tube coming from the urinary bladder.

• The female germ-cells (eggs) are made in the ovaries.

• One egg is produced every month by one of the ovaries.

• The placenta is the connecting link between mother and embryo.

• Placenta helps in the transportation of substances.

• The male reproductive system of human beings consist:–

i. testes which produce sperms,

ii. vas deferens,

iii. seminal vesicles,

iv. prostate gland,

v. urethra,

vi. penis.

• The female reproductive system of human beings consist:-

i. ovaries,

ii. fallopian tubes,

iii. uterus and

iv. vagina.
