Martin Luther was a German monk and was in favour of print that is why he spoke out in praise of it.

Gutenberg was the son of a merchant of Germany . In 1430s he invented first printing press at Strasbourg.

Gutenberg press could print 250 sheets on one side per hour , with the help of this books were produced much faster than was possible by woodblock print.

Gutenberg printed about 180 copies in 1448 however only 50 copies have survived.

Ninety five theses was written by Martin Luther in which he criticised many of the practices and rituals of the Roman Catholic Church.
