During asexual reproduction no gametes formation occurs and involve only single parents. The new individuals produced are clone to each other. Lower plants and unicellular organism follows asexual mode of reproduction in favorable condition.

Amoeba, Paramecium, Euglena undergo binary fission in which cells divides into two equal halves. In Plasmodium, a number of offspring are produced inside the single cell.

A number of simple organism produce single or multi-flagellated spores called zoospores. Water is essential for this mode of reproduction. Aplanospores are non-flagellated spores.

Water hyacinth is water weeds which grows very fast and covers the whole ponds in few days. Weeds absorb oxygen from the water and make it oxygen deficient that kills the fish in ponds along with other aquatic organisms.

In bacteria, asexual reproduction occurs by endospore formation in favorable condition. In unfavorable condition, bacteria produce sexually or change into cyst.

Stem cutting is a mode of vegetative propagation in which stem is cut into pieces having at least one node. From the node new plantlet emerge out. Mango and cotton are grown by seeds and Banana by root cutting.

In vegetative propagation is the asexual mode of reproduction in which plants parts are used to grow new plants. Since fusion of gametes is not involved in the process all individual produced vegetatively are genetically similar.

The plant body of fungi is called mycelium. A small portion of mycelium is called hyphae. Asexual reproduction in fungi occurs by development of constriction at the tips of hyphae called conidiophores.

Conjugation is the mode of sexual reproduction in amoeba and some other Moneras. Cutting, grafting and budding are the mode of asexual reproduction without gametes formation.
