    Solution

In the five numbers there are two numbers of 7-digits and three numbers of 8-digits which are as such:

    4580733, 6543832, 15253679, 15378360, and 23546830

Therefore, in the 7-digit number in 4580733 the leftmost number is 4 and in 6543832 the leftmost number is 6. Similarly, in 15253679 the leftmost number is 1 and in 15378360, the leftmost number is 1, and in 23546830 the leftmost number is 2.

So, from the 7-digit numbers we get that 4580733 < 6543832

In 15253679 and 15378360 we see that the leftmost and the second left is same. So, we will go to the third place from left.

Now we find that in 15253679 in the third left place the number is 2, and in 15378360 the third left place the number is 3.

So, according to the above explanation we get that:

    4580733 < 6543832 < 15253679 < 15378360 < 23546830

    Therefore, option A is correct.

  • Question 2
    1 / -0

Which of the following will form the greatest 4-digit number?

    Solution

So, from all the options we must take out the greatest number that can be made.

Therefore, the greatest numbers will be 5433, 7542, 9821, and 5430.

So, in these numbers we will see the leftmost digit in all the four numbers. In 5433 the leftmost digit is 5, in 7542 the leftmost digit is 7, in 9821 the leftmost digit is 9 and in 5430 the leftmost digit is 5.

From the above explanation we get that 9821 has the highest leftmost digit than others.

    Therefore, option C is correct.

  • Question 3
    1 / -0

Which of the following number is greater?

    Solution

We observe that all the numbers are of 6-digits.

In 457829 the leftmost and second place is 4 and 5 whereas,

In 472859 the leftmost and second place is 4 and 7

Similarly, in 739204 the leftmost and second place is 7 and 3

And in 562849 the leftmost and second place is 5 and 6

So, from the numbers we get that in comparison to others, in 739204, 7 is the leftmost which is greater than others.

Therefore, option C is the correct answer.

  • Question 4
    1 / -0

Population of a city was 453264 in the year 2016. In the year 2017, it increased by 58024. What was the population of the city at the end of the year 2017?

    Solution

Population of a city in the year 2016 = 453264

Population increased in the year 2017 = 58024

Total population at the end of the year 2017 = 453264 + 58024

    511288

    Therefore, option A is correct.

  • Question 5
    1 / -0

Which of the following is the smallest and the greatest number of pair?

    Solution

As in the numbers 73, 70, 82, and 57 we see that the leftmost numbers of these numbers are 7, 7, 8, and 5 respectively. So, in this 5 is the smallest number.

Therefore, 57 will become the smallest number.

Similarly, in the numbers 438, 429, 548, and 550 we get that from the leftmost the numbers are 4, 4, 5, and 5 respectively. So, in this we see that 438 and 429 are smaller than the numbers 548 and 550. So, we will not take them as the greatest.

Then the numbers which are remained are 548 and 550. As the leftmost numbers are same of both, we will go to second left numbers which will be 4 and 5. So, 5 > 4 therefore, 550 will be the greatest number.

Therefore, option D is the correct answer.

  • Question 6
    1 / -0

A woman has 85000 sheets of paper. If each sheet makes 10 pages of a notebook, how many notebooks of 500 pages can be made using the above sheets?

    Solution

    Given

Number of sheets of paper available = 85000

Number of pages obtained from one sheet of paper = 10

    Total number of pages obtained = 10 × 85000

    = 850000

    We know that,

Number of notebooks made = (Total number of pages obtained) / (Number of pages contained by notebook)

    = (850000) / (500)

    = 1700

    Therefore, option C is correct.

  • Question 7
    1 / -0

Which of the following form the smallest number with the condition that 3 will come at the unit’s place?

    Solution

A place value system is one in which the position of a digit in a number determines its value. In the standard system, called base ten, each place represents ten times the value of the place to its right. You can think of this as making groups of ten of the smaller unit and combining them to make a new unit.

So, in all the four numbers the unit’s place is 3. Now, we will see the leftmost digits of all the numbers. In 343, 263, 473, and 433 the leftmost digits are 3, 2, 4, and 4 respectively. Therefore, 343, 473 and 433 will not become the smallest numbers as 2 is the smallest digit.

Therefore, 263 is the smallest number with 3 at the unit’s place.

    Hence, option B is correct.

  • Question 8
    1 / -0

A notebook has 48 pages. How many pages will 5930 such notebooks have?

    Solution

    Given

Number of pages in a notebook = 48 pages

    Number of pages in 5930 notebooks = 5930 × 48

    = 284,640 pages

    Therefore, option B is correct.

  • Question 9
    1 / -0

A woman has ₹ 182589 with her. She placed an order for purchasing 60 articles at ₹ 135 each. How much money will remain with her after the purchase?

    Solution

    A woman has = ₹ 182589

Number of articles purchased by her = 60

    Cost of one article = ₹ 135

    Cost of 80 articles will be = 60 × 135

    = ₹ 8100

Remaining money with her after the purchase = Money in hand – Cost of 60 articles

    = 182589 – 8100

    = 174489

    Therefore, option C is correct.

  • Question 10
    1 / -0

Which of the following form the greatest number with the condition that 5 will come at the hundred’s place?

    Solution

As we know that the hundred’s place means third place from right. So, from the four options we get that only two numbers are there with 5 at the hundred’s place i.e., 6590 and 4589. Then from these two numbers the leftmost digits are 6 and 4 respectively. And we know that 6 > 4 therefore, 6590 will become the greatest number with 5 at the hundred’s place.

    Therefore, option A is correct.
