    5 / -1

    Six friends Anoop, Kailash, Vikas, Darshit, Eshan and Lalit live on different floors of a six-floor building, having floor numbers from 1 to 6. The lowermost floor is numbered 1, the floor above it is numbered 2, and so on. Only two friends live above Vikas's floor and only four friends live below Darshit's floor. Only Anoop lives between the floors of Kailash and Eshan.

    Who lives on the 6th floor?

    Solution

    Given: Six friends Anoop, Kailash, Vikas, Darshit, Eshan and Lalit live on different floors of a six-floor building, having floor numbers from 1 to 6. The lowermost floor is numbered 1, the floor above it is numbered 2, and so on.

    1) Only two friends live above Vikas's floor and only four friends live below Darshit's floor.

    2) Only Anoop lives between the floors of Kailash and Eshan.

    After positioning Annop, Kailash and Eshan only one position is left which will be occupied by the only person left i.e. Lalit.

    Thus, according to the final arrangement, Lalit lives on the 6th floor.

    Hence, "Option 3" is the correct answer.

  • Question 3
    5 / -1

    Six boxes M, N, O, P, Q and R are placed one above the other. The lowermost box is numbered 1, the box above it is numbered 2, and so on. Only three boxes are kept below box M. Box N is kept just above box Q. Box P is kept just below box R, which is box number 3.

    Which box is kept at the bottom?

    Solution

    Given: Six boxes M, N, O, P, Q and R are placed one above the other. The lowermost box is numbered 1, the box above it is numbered 2, and so on.

    1) Only three boxes are kept below box M.

    2) Box P is kept just below box R, which is box number 3.

    3) Box N is kept just above box Q.

    After positioning N and Q only one position is left which will be occupied by the only person left i.e. O.

    Thus, according to the final arrangement, O box is kept at the bottom.

    Hence, "Option 1" is the correct answer.

  • Question 4
    5 / -1

    If A means +, B means -, C means ×, D means ÷, then what will come in place of the question mark (?) in the following equation?

    25 B 3 C 4 A 30 D 6 = ?

    Solution

    Decoding letters:

    Given: 25 B 3 C 4 A 30 D 6 = ?

    25 B 3 C 4 A 30 D 6

    ⇒ 25 - 3 × 4 + 30 ÷ 6

    ⇒ 25 - 3 × 4 + 5

    ⇒ 25 - 12 + 5

    ⇒ 30 - 12

    ⇒ 18

    Hence, the correct answer is "Option 3".

  • Question 5
    5 / -1

    Six people, named W, X, Y, Z, T and U, each are of different ages. The age of T is 24. The age of W is one-fourth times the age of U. The age of Z is half times the age of X. The age of U is three times the age of Z. The age of T is two times the age of W. If The age of X is four times the age of Y. What is the age of Y?

    Solution

    Given:

    Six people, named W, X, Y, Z, T and U, each are of different ages,

    The age of T is 24, age of T is two times the age of W, from this we can get age of W,

    → T = 2 × W

    → 24 = 2 × W

    → W = 24 ÷ 2

    → W = 12

    So, the age of W is 12.

    The age of W is one-fourth times the age of U,

    → W = (1/4) × U

    → 12 = (1/4) × U

    → U = 12 × 4

    → U = 48.

    So, the age of U is 48.

    The age of U is three times the age of Z,

    → U = 3 × Z

    → 48 = 3 × Z

    → Z = 48 ÷ 3

    → Z = 16

    So, the age of Z is 16.

    The age of Z is half times the age of X,

    → Z = (1/2) × X

    → 16 = (1/2) × X

    → X = 16 × 2

    → X = 32

    So, the age of X is 32.

    The age of X is four times the age of Y,

    → X = 4 × Y

    → 32 = 4 × Y

    → Y = 32 ÷ 4

    → Y = 8

    So, the age of Y is 8.

    Hence, the correct answer is "Option 4".

  • Question 6
    5 / -1

    P, Q, R, U, V and W live on six different floors of the same building. The lowermost floor in the building is numbered 1, the floor above it is numbered 2 and so on till the topmost floor, which is numbered 6.

    V lives on floor number 5. P lives on a floor above V. Only U lives below R. W lives on an even numbered floor. How many people live below Q?

    Solution

    Given: P, Q, R, U, V and W live on six different floors of the same building. The lowermost floor in the building is numbered 1, the floor above it is numbered 2 and so on till the topmost floor, which is numbered 6.

    1) V lives on floor number 5.

    2) P lives on a floor above V.

    3) Only U lives below R.

    4) W lives on an even numbered floor.

    After positioning W only one position is left which will be occupied by the only person left i.e. Q.

    Thus, according to the final arrangement, two people live below Q.

    Hence, "Option 2" is the correct answer.

  • Question 7
    5 / -1

    If ‘A’ stands for ‘÷’ , ‘B’ stands for ‘×’, ‘C’ stands for ‘+’ and ‘D’ stands for ‘−’ , what will come in place of the question mark ‘?’ in the following equation?

    (64 A 4) C 28 D 20 C (46 A 23) B 7 C 19 = ?

    Solution

    Decoding signs:

    Given:

    (64 A 4) C 28 D 20 C (46 A 23) B 7 C 19 = ? ⇒ (64 ÷ 4) + 28 - 20 + (46 ÷ 23) × 7 + 19 = ?

    ⇒ (64 ÷ 4) + 28 - 20 + (46 ÷ 23) × 7 + 19 = ?

    ⇒ 16 + 28 - 20 + 2 × 7 + 19 = ?

    ⇒ 16 + 28 + 14 + 19 - 20 = ?

    ⇒ 77 - 20 = ?

    ⇒ 57 = ?

    Hence, "Option 3" is the correct answer.

  • Question 8
    5 / -1

    Six people, named W, X, Y, Z, T and U, each are of different ages. The age of Y is 30. The age of T is five times the age of Z. The age of W is half the age of X. The age of Z is one-fourth the age of W. The age of Y is two times the age of T. If the age of X is half the age of U, what is the age of U?

    Solution

    Given: Six people, named W, X, Y, Z, T and U, each are of different ages.

    1) The age of Y is 30.

    Y = 30

    2) The age of Y is two times the age of T.

    Y = 2T

    So, putting the value of Y, we get

    30 = 2T

    T = 15

    3)  The age of T is five times the age of Z.

    T = 5Z

    So, putting the value of T, we get

    15 = 5Z

    Z = 3

    4) The age of Z is one-fourth the age of W.

    4Z = W

    So, putting the value of Z, we get

    4 × 3 = W

    W = 12

    5) The age of W is half the age of X.

    2W = X

    So, putting the value of W, we get

    12 × 2 = X

    X = 24

    6) The age of X is half the age of U.

    2X = U

    So, putting the value of X, we get

    24 × 2 = U

    U = 48

    Thus, U's age is 48.

    Hence, "Option 3" is the correct answer.

  • Question 9
    5 / -1

    In a game, each player starts with 100 points. In each round, a player can gain or lose points. After 5 rounds, Alice has 130 points, Bob has 90 points, Charlie has 120 points, and David has 110 points. If David gained 30 points in the first 3 rounds, how many points did he lose in the last 2 rounds ?

    Solution

    Given:

    • In a game, each player starts with 100 points.
    • In each round, a player can gain or lose points.
    • After 5 rounds, Alice has 130 points, Bob has 90 points, Charlie has 120 points, and David has 110 points.

    Explanation:

    According to the question David gained 30 points in the first 3 rounds, Therefore, David's points can be calculated as follows:

    Initial points = 100

    Points after 3 rounds = 100 + 30 = 130

    Points after 5 rounds = 110

    Now, points David lose in the last 2 rounds :

    ⇒ (Points after 3 rounds - Points after 5 rounds)

    ⇒ 130 - 120 = 20 Points

    Hence, "20" is the correct answer.

    Painters → 2 person

    Singer → 1 Person

    Dancer → 1 person

    Each person has one outdoor sports interest and one hobby connected with fine arts.

    Outdoor sports → Hockey and Cricket

    Hobbies → Painter, Singer and Dancer.

    1) Banu and Deepa do not play cricket.

    As as Banu and Deepa do not play cricket, therefore plays hockey.

    As two persons play hockey and cricket each, therefore the rest will will play cricket.

    2) The dancer plays hockey.

    3) Banu does not dance.

    As Banu do not dance, therefore Deepa will be the dancer.

    4) Anjali is not a painter nor does she play hockey.

    As Anjali is not a painter and Deepa is a dancer, therefore Banu and Charu are painters as two person are painters and only one person can be a dancer.

    As Banu and Charu are painters and Deepa is a dancer, therefore Anjali will be the Singer accordingly.

    Thus, according to the final arrangement both Anjali and Charu plays cricket.
