Twigs contain tissues that have moderate strength. Collenchyma has thickenings only on the cell wall regions adjoining other cells; hence, it can bend by giving support to the developing twig.

Parenchyma is very delicate and is not able to support twigs.
Xylem and phloem are conducting tissues. Phloem has minimal role in giving strength to plant parts, while xylem can make the bending very difficult, if it is mature and thick.

Apical meristem helps in the growth of plant tips (i.e. length).
Lateral meristem is responsible for horizontal growth, i.e. increase in the girth of stems.
Collenchyma and chlorenchyma are not associated with growth.

The matrix of cartilages is composed of proteins and sugars.

In the upper respiratory tract, the columnar epithelial tissue also has cilia, which are hair-like projections on the outer surfaces of epithelial cells. These cilia can move and their movement pushes the mucus forward to clear it. This type of epithelium is called ciliated columnar epithelium.

Involuntary muscles are found in iris of the eye, in uterus and in bronchi of the lungs. The movement of food in the alimentary canal, and the contraction and relaxation of blood vessels are involuntary movements.

Epithelial tissues line the cavities, and surfaces of blood vessels and organs throughout the body. All glands are made up of epithelial cells. Functions of epithelial cells include secretion, selective absorption, protection, transcellular transport and sensing.

Thrombocytes are the cells responsible for blood clotting. Neutrophils are phagocytes capable of ingesting microbes and particles. The main function of red blood cells is to carry oxygen to different parts of the cell. Lymphocytes are a type of white blood cells that produce antibodies.

In the nervous system, a synapse is a structure that permits a neuron (or nerve cell) to pass an electrical or chemical signal to another neuron. The axon terminal contains the synaptic vesicles that have neurotransmitters stored in them. These neurotransmitters when released bind to the receptors on the dendritic surface.

A multipolar neuron has a single axon and many dendrites. The maximum neurons of CNS are of this type.

Elastic cartilage is a flexible cartilage so that it can withstand repeated bending. This cartilage is found in the outer ear or pinna. Elastic cartilage has the highest number of chondrocytes, so it bends the most.
