Kaundinya Wildlife Sanctuary is a wildlife sanctuary and an elephant reserve situated in Andhra Pradesh, India.It is the only sanctuary in Andhra Pradesh with a population of Asian elephants, which migrated after 200 years from neighbouring regions.

There are two facts that point towards the fact that horse is not native to India. According to the popular version of Indian pre-history, horse - an animal not native to (i) Horse was bought to India by the Indo-Aryans when they came in 1500 B.C.E. There is no evidence of horse in India before 1500 B.C.E.(ii) Among the numerous seals found in Harappa, there is none which represent a horse, while other animals like the bull, buffalo, and goat are represented.

Lowland evergreen tropical rainforest, which has no distinct dry season, and in which most trees retain their leaves throughout the year. Some of the trees in such forests are deciduous; they may lose their leaves at the same time or flower and/or fruit simultaneously (seasonality)

The bulk of forest fires in India occurs in the tropical dry forests of our country, an umbrella category encompassing scrub, savanna grassland, dry and moist-deciduous forests. Almost 70% of forests in India are composed of these types

The Deccan thorn scrub forests are a xeric shrubland ecoregion of south India and northern Sri Lanka. Historically this area was covered by tropical dry deciduous forest, but this only remains in isolated fragments. The vegetation now consists of mainly of southern tropical thorn scrub type forests.

Mahogany is a kind of wood—the straight-grained, reddish-brown timber of three tropical hardwood species of the genus Swietenia, indigenous to the Americas and part of the pantropical chinaberry family, Meliaceae. Mahogany is a commercially important lumber prized for its beauty, durability, and color, and used for paneling and to make furniture, boats, musical instruments and other items. The leading importer of mahogany is the United States, followed by Britain;[1] while the largest exporter today is Peru, which surpassed Brazil after that country banned mahogany exports in 2001.

With their roots submerged in water, mangrove trees thrive in hot, muddy, salty conditions that would quickly kill most plants. Not only do mangroves manage to survive in challenging conditions, the mangrove ecosystem also supports an incredible diversity of creatures including some species unique to mangrove forests

Teak are hardwood trees that grow in the south of Asia, usually in monsoon rainforests, including India, Myanmar, Thailand and Indonesia. They can be found growing throughout that region. However, many native teak forests have vanished due to over-logging. Teak trees can grow to 150 feet tall and live for 100 years.

Deciduous Forests. These forests are found in areas where the rainfall is between 100cm. to 200 cm. Teak trees are the most dominant species of trees found in these forests. Bamboos, sal, shisham, sandalwood, khair, kusum, arjun, mulberry are some of the other commercially important species found here

The average temperature in tropical rainforests ranges from 70 to 85°F (21 to 30°C). The environment is pretty wet in tropical rainforests, maintaining a high humidity of 77% to 88% year-round. The yearly rainfall ranges from 80 to 400 inches (200 to 1000 cm), and it can rain hard
