NEET UG 2025: MCC AIQ Counselling Expected July 1 – Judicial Update Included

The counselling process of NEET UG 2025 is likely to begin from July 1, 2025 by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) for the candidates who have cleared the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET UG 2025).

The process will be conducted for 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats, which will include government, deemed and private medical colleges across the country.

MCC conducts NEET UG counselling every year to provide admission to eligible students in MBBS, BDS, AYUSH, BSc Nursing and other allied courses in prestigious medical institutes of the country. The counselling takes place completely in online mode, with stages such as registration, choice filling, seat allotment and reporting.

Which Colleges will get AIQ Seats?

MCC conducts counselling for AIQ seats in the following medical colleges:
15% MBBS and BDS seats of states
100% seats of Banaras Hindu University (BHU)
All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) – all over India
JIPMER Puducherry and Karaikal
Aligarh Muslim University (AMU)
Delhi University, IP University, VMMC, ABVIMS, ESIC Dental
Dental seats of Jamia Millia Islamia
15% AIQ seats of ESIC

Steps of NEET UG 2025 Counselling Process

Registration – Candidates have to register by visiting the official website of MCC at mcc.nic.in.

Choice Filling and Locking – Choice filling has to be done as per your preference from the list of available colleges and courses.

Seat Allotment Result – Selected candidates get the information of the allotted college on the website.

Reporting to College – After getting the seat, candidates have to report to the respective college with the documents.

Although MCC has not yet released the official NEET UG 2025 counseling schedule, during a recent hearing in the Delhi High Court, the petitioner's lawyer said that the counseling is likely to start from July 1. The court has scheduled the next hearing of the case for June 27, 2025.

A student of Trishala Devi Kanohar Lal Balika Inter College in Meerut district of Uttar Pradesh said that she was mentally stressed due to a mistake in biometric verification in the NEET exam. She filed a petition in the court for this and demanded compensatory marks. The court has ordered the NTA to preserve the CCTV footage, log book and register of the examination center.
