The National Testing Agency (NTA) is going to postpone the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) for undergraduate programs. According to the media report, the official announcement in this regard is likely to be made today. Students are advised to keep checking the official website of NTA for the latest updates.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has decided to postpone the CUET exam for undergraduate courses. According to sources, the NTA has expressed its inability to conduct the examination on the pre-scheduled dates to the University Grants Commission (UGC). A meeting will be held between the two today, in which a decision will be taken on the new schedule. New exam dates will be announced soon.
The reason for the postponement of CUET is said to be the NEET-UG exam, which was held last Sunday. According to sources, the NTA has sought additional time from the UGC to conduct the CUET due to the focus on NEET-UG. The UGC is the main body of this exam, and the NTA conducts it.
The delay in the announcement of the exam schedule has created confusion among lakhs of candidates. They are waiting for a clear notification from the NTA regarding the exam city slip and detailed timetable. This delay has affected the preparation of students and they are now waiting for direction for the next step.
This year, the CUET exam will be conducted in a completely computer-based test (CBT) mode for all 37 subjects. The duration of each subject will be 60 minutes, consisting of 50 multiple choice questions. The number of shifts may change depending on the availability of exam centres, and there are likely to be two to three shifts per day.
Unlike previous years, this time the NTA has not released a formal date sheet. Instead, the exam details are expected to be shared directly through city information slips. These slips will inform candidates of the city of the exam centres and subject-wise exam dates. The delay has led to students and parents across the country expressing concern, especially due to pending travel and accommodation arrangements.
CUET-UG 2025 will be conducted in 13 Indian languages: English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu. Candidates must strictly follow the instructions given in the information bulletin available on the official website. There is no age limit for CUET-UG 2025, but candidates are required to follow the age criteria of the respective university.
