Common University Entrance Test (CUET) is a famous competitive examination for students seeking admission into various universities. Hundreds of thousands of students take this exam every year in the hope of gaining admission into their favorite universities.
However, like any other exam, many students make mistakes during CUET, which can jeopardize their chances of success. Thus, to avoid any pitfalls, students should be well prepared and careful while filling the application.
Amogh Sanjgiri, Chief Business Officer, IMS, provides information about common mistakes made in CUET (Common University Entrance Test) along with valuable tips to avoid them.
1. Poor Time Management: Among the various mistakes, the one that burdens students is poor time management. Many students find it difficult to manage their time well, resulting in rushed and inadequate responses. Thus, to avoid this, it is important to employ time management strategies such as setting specific time limits for each question and prioritizing tasks based on their weightage in the exam.
2. Underestimating Mock Tests: CUET mock tests are important for exam preparation, but many students fail to understand their importance. Therefore, students should give priority to giving mock exams before the actual exam. Practicing mock exams not only helps students get familiar with the format and type of questions that will come in the actual exam but also helps them identify weak areas that need to be addressed.
3. Ignoring the syllabus: Ignoring the CUET syllabus coverage is a common mistake. Ignoring any part can lead to missed opportunities. As a result, it is important to ensure that each topic is given adequate attention and to formulate a comprehensive study approach. This ensures uniform and complete preparation, thereby reducing the chances of coming across unknown topics during the examination.
4. Lack of Revision: Neglecting thorough revision is a common mistake. To avoid this, students should specifically schedule time to revise their material. As part of this process, students should take time to examine their notes, textbooks, and any additional resources they used to supplement their preparation. By doing this, students can enter the examination hall prepared with a better understanding of the subject matter.
5. Do not re-check the answer sheet: Due to the hurry to complete the examination, applicants often fail to re-check their answers. They may also forget the question which they left to solve later. As a result, candidates should complete their exam on time and leave 10 to 15 minutes at the end to re-read their answers. This way, if they have any unanswered questions, they can resolve them at that time.
