Cutoff for the JEE Main 2027 exam will be declared by the NTA along with the declaration of the result. The cutoff is responsible for making it certain whether you will be able to give the JEE Advanced 2027 exam or not. Cutoff is declared for each category separately, such as General, EWS, OBC-NCL, SC, ST, and PwD.
In case you have cleared the cutoff, you will be able to give the JEE Advanced 2027 exam which leads to admission in IITs.
Qualifying Cutoff vs Admission Cutoff
There are basically two kinds of cutoffs, and people get confused about them.
Qualifying cutoff is the least percentile that you require in order to be eligible for the JEE Advanced test. It is issued by NTA along with the results.
Admission cutoff is the starting and finishing rank of every college and department. It is announced by JoSAA during counseling and keeps changing round by round.
To conclude, qualifying cutoff makes sure that you reach the next stage, whereas admission cutoff ensures your final seat.

- Difficulty of the paper — an easier paper tends to raise the cutoff.
- Overall performance — better prepared batches lift the bar for everyone.
- Seats and reservation norms — these set the share of qualifiers per category.
