MP Board book for class 10th Science Chapter 2- Acids, Bases and Salts
This is mainly for the MP board class 10th science book’s chapter 2. Chapter 2 consists of the definition of acids, bases and salts, its reactions.
Acids- Acid is a solution which tastes sour. It also turns the blue litmus into red in colour. Acid also neutralises the bases. Two types of acids are there which is natural acid which can be present in
Base- Base is a solution which tastes bitter. It also turns the red litmus into blue in colour. The solution neutralises the acids.
Salt- Salt is a neutral one which will not affect the solution.
PH paper- PH paper is actually the universal indicator of the solution. PH paper is a paper which is used to identify if the solution is acidic, basic or neutral.
Common Salt- It is a main component in our food routine Chemical compound for common salt is sodium chloride ( Na Cl).
Sodium Hydroxide- The main property for this is there is no smell but it can harm anyone if anyone comes closer to it.
Bleaching Powder- It is generally used for home uses like bleaching the clothes. The chemical name for bleaching powder is calcium hypochlorite.
Baking Soda- The chemical name for baking soda is sodium bicarbonate of soda. It generally neutralises the acid in the stomach.
Washing Soda- Washing soda is generally used for home uses that is to make laundry detergents.
