CUET 2027 Syllabus Sections
The CUET syllabus can broadly be divided into three categories.
Language Subjects
The syllabus of language subjects assesses the understanding of the candidates in the chosen language subjects. Comprehension, literary aptitude and vocabulary are some of the important sections in the language subjects.
Reading passages can consist of factual, literary and narrative passages. The students should practice the exercises of comprehension and vocabulary questions on a regular basis. The latest syllabus is following this format.
Domain-Specific Subjects
Domain subjects will test the candidates in those subjects that they have selected while filling the CUET application form.
Some of the domain subjects include Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology, Accountancy, Economics, Business Studies, History, Political Science, Geography, Psychology, etc.
As per the latest exam structure, the papers of domain subjects follow the relevant NCERT syllabus.
General Aptitude Test
The General Aptitude Test checks the general awareness, numerical ability and reasoning of the candidates.
The syllabus of General Aptitude Test according to the latest syllabus covers general knowledge, current affairs, general mental ability, numerical ability, quantitative reasoning, logical reasoning and analytical reasoning.

In CUET UG 2026, each test paper had 50 compulsory questions, a duration of 60 minutes, five marks for every correct answer and one mark as negative marking for incorrect answers. The candidates should not consider the same marking scheme for CUET 2027 until the release of its information bulletin.

Is CUET 2027 Syllabus Based on Class 12 NCERT?
The syllabus of domain subjects in the latest official syllabus is mostly based on NCERT. But it is not applicable in the same manner for language papers and the General Aptitude Test.
The syllabus of language papers consists of mainly reading comprehension, vocabulary and literary aptitude. The syllabus of General Aptitude Test includes general knowledge, current affairs, mental ability, numerical ability and logical and analytical reasoning.
Thus, the students preparing for CUET 2027 should follow NCERT books for domain subjects, while making other strategies for the preparation of language and aptitude papers.
How Many Subjects Can You Choose in CUET 2027?
The exact number of subjects that can be chosen in CUET UG 2027 will be provided by NTA in the official information bulletin.
As per the latest CUET UG 2026 instructions, the candidates can choose a maximum of five subjects including language papers and the General Aptitude Test.
The students should not choose the subjects as per their preference. First, they should check the subject selection criteria of their target university and undergraduate program.
The CUET UG 2026 exam is expected to be held in May 2026 (exact dates will be announced by NTA).
Candidates can choose a maximum of 6 subjects – 3 domain subjects, 2 languages, and 1 general test.
