Monoecious plant of Chara shows occurrence of
    Solution
Chara is a genus of green algae. They are multicellular and superficially resemble land plants. They prefer less oxygenated and hard water. They are covered with calcium carbonate deposits and are commonly known as stoneworts.
Chara reproduces by both sexual and vegetative modes. Sexual reproduction of Chara is an advanced oogamous type. The sex organs are macroscopic and large. The male sex organ is yellow to red in colour, called globule. The female sex organ is more or less oval and green in colour and called nucule or oogonium. On maturity, globule develops into antheridia filaments made up of antheridium cells. Oogonium is always situated singly above the globule or antheridium.
Most of the species are homothallic or monoecious ( i.e. male and female sex organs develop on the same plant ) but some are heterothallic or dioecious ( i.e. male and female sex organs on different plants ).
Thus, the correct answer is option A.

Agar-agar, Carrageenin and Funori are obtained from
    Solution
Cell well composition of algae is known as phycocolloids. Phycocolloids of red algae are agar-agar, carreigeenin, and funori. Red algae are also known as Kanten. Agar-agar is obtained from seaweed, the cell wall of Gracllaria and Geladium used as culture media in the laboratory. Carrageenin is a multifunctional agent. It is used as a clearing agent and emulsifier in chocolate ice cream, shaving cream, toothpaste, and paints. Funori is the glue which is used as adhesive and in sizing textiles paper.
Hence correct answer is option A.

    • Laminaria and Sargassum are the brown algae and are cultivated as a crop.
    • Algae are green photosynthetic organisms that release oxygen in immediate vicinity through the process of photosynthesis.
    • The cell wall of brown algae has an inner cellulose layer and outer gelatinous coat which is composed mainly of algin, it is used as an emulsifying agent and a stabilizer.
