Kite birds can fly to great heights.

The researchers that found the birds reached a peak height of nearly 21,120 feet (6,437 meters) during their travels.

Flight feathers is the most important part to help the bird fly in the air.

Light bones: A bird's bones are basically hollow with air sacs and thin.

Tiny cross pieces to make bones stronger: This reduces the force of weight.

A rigid skeleton to provide firm attachments for powerful flight muscles: This helps with the force of thrust.

The flight muscles of the birds are attached to an extension of the sternum also known as a carina.

These special muscles of birds that help them to fly are called flight muscles.

Tail feathers act like rudder of a boat which is used to change the direction of bird during its flight.

Upstroke: When the wings are pulled up , air is able to move between the feathers.

Birds bend their wings during the upstroke to move them through less air.

The air is deflected downwards and also to the rear.

The bird reduces its angle of attack and partially folds its wings on the upward stroke so that it passes through the air with the least possible resistance.

Birds use their tails to create lift and control drag during slower flights and to help steer during turns.

They also furl their tails to reduce drag during faster flights.

Swans are birds of the family Anatidae within the genus Cygnus.

The swans' closest relatives include the geese and ducks.
