Plants that grow in water are called aquatic plants.

• Plants that never shed their leaves are called evergreen plants, these are generally seen in equatorial regions. 
• They remain flourished throughout the year.
• Examples of evergreen plants are:

• Conical trees are also known as Coniferous or Mountain trees. 
• These trees are found in the Hill slopes. 
• Example: Pine, deodar, silver fir, spruce, and cedar

• Plants that grow on land are called terrestrial plants. 
• Terrestrial plants are of different types depending on the condition they grow in.

• Plants that do not have chlorophyll are called non-green plants. 
• Plants, which live on other plants for food, are called parasitic plants.

• Plants in marshes are called mangroves. 
• Roots do not get air to breathe, hence grow out of soil & water.

Deciduous trees in the Northern Hemisphere like Ash, Oak, Maple, Aspen, Beech, Birch, Hickory, Elm, etc. shed their leaves during autumn as cold winter approaches.

Tall, straight and cone-shaped plant with needle like leaves is any mountain plant like fir, pine and deodar.

Plants need to adapt in order to survive harsh climatic conditions and other unfavourable circumstances. 

Example: Roses use thorns to scare off animals who intend to eat them up, which is a kind of Adaptation.
