A number of diseases are caused by bacteria that include Diarrhoea, Typhoid, Tuberculosis etc. Typhoid is a bacterial infection caused by salmonellla typhi. A type of bacteria called mycobacterium tuberculosis causes Tuberculosis.

Typhoid is caused by bacterium Salmonella typhii. Tuberculosis is caused by mycobacterium tuberculosis. Malaria is caused by plasmodium. Cholera is caused by vibrio cholera.

Poliomyelitis, often called polio or infantile paralysis, is an infectious disease caused by the polio virus, in which legs and other extremities become paralysed.

Tuberculosis (TB) is caused by mycobacterium tuberculosis. TB is a serious infection which affects the lungs and sometimes other parts of the body, such as the bones, joints and kidneys. It can also cause meningitis. The bacteria release tuberculin toxin. The patient's sputum may contain blood.

AIDS can be transmitted through sexual contact from one partner to another. It can also be transmitted through blood to blood contact with infected people or from an infected person to a healthy person through blood transfusion or from an infected mother to her baby during pregnancy or through breast-feeding. It is not transmitted through casual physical contact like handshake or hug.

World Tuberculosis Day is observed on March 24 each year; it is designed to build public awareness about the global epidemic of tuberculosis (TB) worldwide and the status of TB prevention and care efforts. World AIDS Day, designated on 1 December every year since 1988, is dedicated to raising awareness of the AIDS pandemic caused by the spread of HIV. World Malaria Day (WMD) is an international observance commemorated every year on 25 April and recognizes global efforts to control malaria. TAB vaccine (typhoid-paratyphoid A and B vaccine) provides immunity for 3 years.
