Shillong is a hill station and the capital of the Meghalaya state. It belongs to the subdivision of Eastern Himalayas.

The region of older alluvium of the Ganga plain is known as Bangar plain.  In the Gangetic plains, it has a low upland covered by laterite deposits. It forms the alluvial terrace of the flood plains. 

The Chota Nagpur Plateau is a plateau in eastern India, which covers much of Jharkhand state as well as adjacent parts of Odisha, West Bengal, Bihar and Chhattisgarh. The Chhota Nagpur Plateau famous for its mineral deposits.

Bundelkhand is a mountainous region located in central India. Bundelkhand comprises parts of Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. 'Bundelkhand' is situated in the north-east direction of Malwa plateau which is located in west-central India.

The triangular region to the south of Narmada is known as the Deccan Plateau. It is an inverted triangle with its base in the north and apex in the south. The Deccan Plateau is divided into the following sub-regions:

Central highlands is the area between the Ganga plains and the Malwa plateau on the west. The correct order from East to West is Chota Nagpur- Baghelkhand-Bundelkhand-Malwa plateau.

Lakshadweep islands are the smallest union territories of India located in the south west coast of India. Total surface area is of this Union Territory is just 32 km2. It is governed by the Union Government of India.

The Biligiriranga Hills, also called B R Hills, is a hill range situated in south-eastern Karnataka, at its border with Tamil Nadu in South India. The area is called Biligiriranga Swamy Temple Wildlife Sanctuary or simply BRT Wildlife Sanctuary. The forests form an important wildlife corridor between the Western Ghats and the Eastern Ghats, linking the largest populations of Asian Elephants and tigers in southern India.

 Situated thus at the tail end of the eastern Ghats, the BR Hills form a part of the hill ranges that connect the Eastern Ghats with the Western Ghats, with plants and wildlife of both these areas. The forests on the hills support a variety of habitats and thus the wildlife in the area ranges from species known from scrub forests and dryer regions to species that are endemic to wet forests of the Western Ghats.

The Garhjat Hills is a mountain range that stretch into Odisha from the Utkal Plains in the Chotanagpur region of Jharkhand and the Chhattisgarh Plains.

• The Gaddis are a tribe living mainly in the Indian states of Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir. 
  
• They are said to have migrated from the hills of Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir or possibly from the plains of the Punjab.
  
• Gaddis belong to the class of the shepherds and their job is to look after goats and sheep.
