The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will open applications for CBSE Class 12 re-evaluation and verification of answer sheets on 29th May 2026. Students who have already obtained scanned copies of their answer sheets may now proceed with their process on the official portal.

This year, CBSE is offering the first-ever complete digitized re-evaluation process for the Class 12 board examinations. This initiative involves around 17 lakh students, and almost 98 lakh answer sheets have been scanned along with almost 40 crore scanned pages.
CBSE Rolls out Digitized Re-evaluation Process for Board Exams
This innovative solution was implemented with the technical and logistical assistance of the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur; Indian Institute of Technology, Madras; and four public sector banks.
Till date, around 4 lakh students have accessed more than 11 lakh scanned answer sheets for re-evaluation of their marks or verification purposes. However, it has been revealed by the government that there were some hiccups, which have since been sorted.

As per previous announcements, the link to verify and reassess is scheduled to be activated today via the official website. Students who have downloaded their answer sheet scans are advised to use their existing logins and register for:

CBSE Class 12 Re-evaluation 2026: Fee Details
Applicants seeking re-evaluation or verification need to pay their fees online. Here is the latest fee structure:

Important instructions for students
CBSE has issued several key guidelines students must follow before applying for re-evaluation.
Re-evaluation allowed only after obtaining scanned copies: Students can request re-evaluation only for subjects where they've already obtained scanned copies of answer sheets. Without that, re-evaluation applications for the subject won't be accepted.
Re-evaluation limited to selected questions: CBSE has clarified that re-evaluation will only cover the specific questions chosen by the student. No fresh totalling or review of other answers will be done.
Marks may increase or decrease: The board has said marks awarded after re-evaluation may go up or down. The final decision by CBSE will be binding.
