Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has presented the Budget 2025-26 in Parliament, in which many big announcements have been made for education and employment. These announcements include announcements ranging from increasing seats in IITs and medical colleges to providing full broadband connectivity to schools.
Last year, the education sector has demanded an allocation of 6 percent of the gross domestic product (GDP) for the public education system, while the minister allocated Rs 1.12 lakh crore to the education sector last year, which shows an increase of 13 percent compared to the previous year.

Sitharaman said that this budget has been prepared keeping in mind the poor, youth, farmers and women. Let us know what kind of big announcements have been made in the budget regarding the education sector –
1. The government has said that internet broadband facility will be provided in all government secondary schools. Along with this, centers related to primary health will also be established. In this way, one of the objectives of the budget seems to be to reduce the digital divide.
2. Five national centers will be established to improve the skills of the youth. Here work will be done in the field of skills with the help of global experts. So that students can improve their skills.
3. In the budget, Nirmala Sitharaman has announced the Indian Language Book Scheme. Through this, access to books in Indian languages, that too in digital way, primary and higher education books will be made available.
4. The central government will provide additional infrastructure in five IITs in the coming days. Especially, the IIT present in Patna, the capital of Bihar, will be expanded significantly.
5. In the next five years, 10 thousand fellowships will be given to work in the field of technology and research in IITs and IISc. Through this, the government aims to promote research.
6. Nirmala Sitharaman has said that the number of students in the country's total 23 IITs has doubled in the last ten years. IIT Patna's hostels and other infrastructure will be improved.
7. Next year, 10 thousand seats will be increased in medical colleges and hospitals. At the same time, a total of 75 thousand seats will be increased in medical colleges and hospitals in the next five years.
8. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has announced that at least 50 thousand Atal Tinkering Labs will be built in the next five years. It is claimed that through this, scientific consciousness will be spread among the youth.
