CBSE Syllabus 2025-26 Released

For the 2025-26 academic session, the Central Board of Secondary Education has released the CBSE Syllabus 2025-26 which contains the details about the chapters and topics of each subject. All the chapters and topics that are mentioned in the CBSE 2025 Syllabus are must to study throughout an academic year to be able to perform well in the exam. 

CBSE has released the classes 6 to 12 syllabus for the 2025-26 academic year, similar to yesteryear this year the term-wise syllabus is discontinued. For your convenience, we have provided here the reduced CBSE Syllabus 2025-26.

Note:- The CBSE board has not released the syllabus for the Punjabi language for the ongoing academic session 2025-26. Apart from this, syllabus for all other regional languages are available on the board's website and on this website.

The board has decided to conduct a yearly board exam this year, where 100% of the curriculum will be used to conduct the board exams.

CBSE New Syllabus 2025-26 - What’s New?

Since the board tries to change the CBSE Curriculum every year, they have also made changes in the 2025-26 syllabus. The CBSE new syllabus has many changes, such as a term-wise syllabus that has been removed, a few topics that have been deleted, and many topics that have been added. 

However, there are also some subjects which don’t have any changes such as Accountancy, Business Studies, English Core, Economics, Geography, History, and Mathematics.

CBSE Class 12 Syllabus 2025-26

Class 12th or intermediate is a board standard where students are required to keep tracking their learnings and preparation simultaneously as per the CBSE Class 12 Syllabus 2025-26.

Just like other years the CBSE Curriculum has been revised and some changes have occurred like this: Subjects such as Biology, Chemistry, and Physics have some changes. 

In Physics there are no changes in the theory part. However, the practical portions have some changes:

• Before 2023 the number of practicals was 5 but now, it has become 6. 
• The removed portions of class 12 Physics Practicals are:
  • Finding the wavelength of a laser beam by diffraction. 
  • To apprehend the principles of AND, OR, and NOT gates. Making their identical circuits utilizing a bell and battery.

In Chemistry there are some changes like this:

• In theory:

• There are some alterations in units: ‘Solid State’ has been added as Unit-1.

• In Chapter 7 Group-15 elements have been added.

• Changes made to Unit 5- Polymers: Classification-synthetic and natural methods, methods of polymerization.

• The Unit-13 has been renamed to ‘Amines’. Topics of cyanides and isocyanides have been removed.

In Biology syllabus the changes are like this:

• Biology Supplementary Material has been added in CBSE Class 12 Biology.

• In Chapter-15 the term ‘sacred groves’ has been added which is a part of the theory section.

CBSE Class 11 Syllabus 2025-26

The changes that occurred in the 2022-23 Syllabus are still continued and accordingly the new syllabus has been released for CBSE Class 10.

One Board Exam & Types of Questions

In 2022 the board decided to divide the whole syllabus in two terms and conduct the board exams in two terms too. However, similar to yesteryear, this year the board has decided to take one board exam and so there is no division in the CBSE Syllabus 2025-26 this year.

Similarly, the board has made some changes in the types of questions too. The questions in the upcoming CBSE board exams will be in these manners:

• MCQs or multiple choice questions for 40% weightage
• 20% weightage to competency-based questions where students will have to use their brain to decode the given scene and solve the asked questions.
• Subjective or long answer plus short answer types of questions are given 40% weightage.
