CBSE Syllabus 2022-23
CBSE Syllabus contains the details about the chapters and topics of each subject that need to be studied by a student throughout one academic year. CBSE has released the classes 6 to 12 syllabus for 2022-23 academic year, this year the term wise syllabus has been removed and the latest syllabus has been provided here in PDF.
Note:- The CBSE board has not released the syllabus for Punjabi language for ongoing academic session 2022-23. Apart from this, syllabus for all other regional languages are available on the board's website and on this website.
The board has decided to conduct a yearly board exam this year, where 100% of the curriculum will be used to conduct the board exams.
In order to ace these exams, students should refer to the NCERT Textbooks that are based on the CBSE Syllabus.
CBSE New Syllabus - What’s New
Since the board tries to make changes in CBSE Curriculum every year, they have made changes in the 2022-23 syllabus too. The CBSE new syllabus has lots of changes such as a term wise syllabus has been removed, a few topics have been deleted and a lot of topics have been added too.
However, there are also some subjects which don’t have any changes such as Accountancy, Business Studies, English Core, Economics, Geography, History, Mathematics.
In Group A a new elective subject Applied Mathematics has been added.
What is the Objective of the CBSE Curriculum
The Central Board of Secondary Education aiming to achieve the following objectives through the CBSE Curriculum:
- Students should be able to inspect their inner potential or true worth as well as hike in self-awareness.
- They should be able to enhance their life skills for the betterment of themselves as well as society.
- They should learn the method of setting goals and achieving them through the knowledge of lifelong learning.
- They should be able to convey their message to the real world through better communications and being open for accepting appreciation as well as giving them too.
- They should be able to understand society better.
- Students should focus on their physical fitness, health and well-being.
- They must try to achieve cognitive, affective and psychomotor excellence.
CBSE Syllabus 2022-23 for Class 6 to 12
CBSE Class 6 to 12 Syllabus for the ongoing academic session has been released by the board after the approval of Curriculum Committee and Governing Body of the Board.
The CBSE board will conduct the final exams on the basis of released syllabus.
This revised CBSE Syllabus will release some stress from the students head. Because they will not need to rush to complete their whole curriculum at a time. Since it has been released earlier, they will only need to access the syllabus and start their preparation accordingly.

CBSE Syllabus Subject Wise

CBSE Class 12 Syllabus
Class 12th is a board standard where students are required to keep tracking their learnings and preparation simultaneously.
They also need to assess their learnings from time to time, so that they can be ahead in the preparation.
Just like other years the CBSE Curriculum has been revised and some changes have occurred like this: Subjects such as Biology, Chemistry, and Physics have some changes.
In Physics there are no changes in the theory part. However, the practical portions have some changes:
- Earlier the number of practicals was 5 but now, it has become 6.
- The removed portions of class 12 Physics Practicals are:
- Finding the wavelength of a laser beam by diffraction.
- To apprehend the principles of AND, OR, and NOT gates. Making their identical circuits utilizing a bell and battery.
In Chemistry there are some changes like this:
- In theory:
- There are some alterations in units: ‘Solid State’ has been added as Unit-1.
- In Chapter 7 Group-15 elements have been added.
- Changes made to Unit 5- Polymers: Classification-synthetic and natural methods, methods of polymerization.
- The Unit-13 has been renamed to ‘Amines’. Topics of cyanides and isocyanides have been removed.
In Biology syllabus the changes are like this:
- Biology Supplementary Material has been added in CBSE Class 12 Biology.
- In Chapter-15 the term ‘sacred groves’ has been added which is a part of the theory section.

CBSE Class 11 Syllabus
Due to having so many subjects to study, Class 11 gives students lots of pressure. A student will have to cover their all syllabus in a systematic as well as an approachable manner.
In this standard, students find mainly two parts of each book. For example Physics has two parts, Chemistry, Biology and mathematics have also two parts of the book.

Changes in the CBSE Class 10 Syllabus
CBSE Syllabus Class 10 for Social Science
- A new book has been prescribed named ‘Learning Outcomes at the Secondary Stage’.
CBSE Syllabus Class 10 for Science
- ‘Assessment of Practical Skills’ has been prescribed as part of the NCERT syllabus.
CBSE Syllabus Class 10 for English
- ‘Words and Expressions’ has been prescribed in CBSE Class 10 English Curriculum.

CBSE Class 9 Syllabus

One Board Exam & Types of Questions
Last year the board decided to divide the whole syllabus in two terms and conduct the board exams in two terms too. However, this year the board has decided to take one board exam and so there is no division in the CBSE Syllabus 2022-23 this year.
Similarly, the board has made some changes in the types of questions too. The questions in the upcoming CBSE board exams will be in these manners:
- MCQs or multiple choice questions for 40% weightage
- 20% weightage to competency-based questions where students will have to use their brain to decode the given scene and solve the asked questions.
- Subjective or long answer plus short answer types of questions are given 40% weightage.
Ans :- Yes, the board exams will be conducted in 2022-23 for all subjects by referring to the newly released CBSE Syllabus.
Ans :- No, there will be no term wise exam this year, because CBSE Board has removed the term wise exam in AY 2022-23.
