Eligibility is based on candidates having completed or currently studying the Class 12 or its equivalent exam through any recognized board. The recent eligibility trend suggests that students completing Class 12 in 2025 and 2026 or appearing in 2027 will be eligible.

No age limit is expected for appearing in JEE Main 2027. However, candidates must meet any age-related requirements prescribed by the institute where they seek admission.

NTA doesn’t specify a fixed number of attempts. Candidates can usually appear in JEE Main during three consecutive years, starting from their Class 12 passing year. If the exam is held in two sessions, they can appear in both sessions during each eligible year.

Eligibility for entry into B.E. or B.Tech programs through the NIT+ scheme requires that the candidate has taken Physics, Mathematics, a language subject, and either Chemistry/Biology/Biotechnology/technical vocational subjects in addition to one more subject.

B.Arch course admission through the NIT+ program requires that the applicant have scored in class 12th with physics, chemistry and mathematics, along with 2 other subjects. However, some other institutions of architecture could require different conditions for admission.

Yes. Class 12 or other such equivalents obtained outside India will be considered. Those who belong to examinations/boards which are not on the recognized list by NTA have to obtain an equivalency certificate from Association of Indian Universities.

The eligibility criteria depend on the state in which the candidate qualified in the Class 12 examination or its equivalent. This is independent of the state of birth, domicile, or present residence of the candidate. The study center of NIOS students is taken into account for eligibility purposes.

The candidate would be eligible for a repeater through the normal online application process if their first year of passing Class 12 is within the allowable period. In the case of JEE Main 2027, students who have passed Class 12 in 2025 and 2026 should be eligible. Improvement examination does not affect the original passing year.

Candidates are expected to be among the top 2,50,000 successful candidates in the JEE Main 2027 B.E./B.Tech paper. They must also meet the prescribed age limit, Class 12 appearance-year rule, attempt limit and previous IIT admission conditions. The exact requirements will be confirmed in the JEE Advanced 2027 brochure.

No minimum percentage of Class 12 is necessary to take JEE Main. In case of NIT+ admissions, students have to get a minimum of 75% or be among the top 20% of their respective boards on the basis of category. The minimum requirement for SC/ST/PwD candidates is 65%.
