    20 men can finish a pieces of work in 64 days. The number of days after which 6 men should leave the work so that the work is finished in 70 days altogether is:

    Solution

    Given,

    Number of men = 20

    Number of days = 64

    M1 D= M2 D2 + M3D3

    Let 6 men leave the work after x days.

    Therefore,

    M1 = 20, D1 = 64

    M= 20, D2 = x

    M3 = (20 - 6) = 14

    D3 = (70 - x)

    Now,

    ⇒ 20 × 64 = 20 × x + (20 - 6) × (70 - x)

    ⇒ 1280 = 20x + 14 × (70 - x)

    ⇒ 1280 - 980 = 6x

    300/6 = x

    ⇒ 50 = x

    ∴ 6 men left the work after 50 days.
