The pulmonary veins carry oxygenated blood from the lungs into the left atrium where it is returned to systemic circulation.

The pulmonary vein that transfers oxygenated blood from the lungs to the heart. Because Blood enters the right atrium and passes through the right ventricle. The right ventricle pumps the blood to the lungs where it becomes oxygenated. The oxygenated blood is brought back to the heart by the pulmonary veins which enter the left atrium.

The Human heart is four chambered : two atria and two ventricles. (Right atrium, left atrium) and (Right ventricles, left ventricles).
