  • Question 1
    1 / -0

The quadrilateral whose opposite sides are parallel is a  ___________.

    Solution

    Explanation:

A parallelogram is a simple quadrilateral with two pairs of parallel sides. The opposite sides of a parallelogram are parallel an equal in length.

  • Question 2
    1 / -0

Polygons that have no portions of their diagonals in their exteriors are called ____________.

    Solution

    Explanation:

Polygons that does not have any portion of diagonals in the exterior of polygon are called Convex Polygons.

  • Question 3
    1 / -0

A  polygon with minimum number of sides is ______________.

    Solution

    Explanation:

As we know a polygon is a closed loop formed by line segments. So, to form a closed loop, minimum 3 sides are required and a polygon with 3 sides is known as triangle. Thus, a polygon with minimum number of sides is Triangle.

  • Question 4
    1 / -0

All the sides of a regular polygon are _________________.

    Solution

    Explanation:

Polygons are a simple closed curves made up of line segments of equal lengths.

  • Question 5
    1 / -0

A simple closed curve made up of only _____________ is called  a polygon .

    Solution

    Explanation:

A Polygon is defined as a plane figure that is bounded by a finite chain of straight line segments closing in a loop to form a closed polygon chain.

  • Question 6
    1 / -0

The park in a town is made in the form of a kite. Its perimeter is 90 metres and one side is 10 m more than other side. What are the lengths of all sides?

    Solution

    Explanation:

Let, the two different sides of park be 'a' m and 'b' m respectively.

Given that, Parallelogram of park = 90m

    ⟹⟹          2 (a + b) = 90 m         ⟹⟹   a + b = 45 m     --------------------(i)

Also, it is given that,  one side is more than other by 10m, i.e.    a = b + 10    ----------(ii)

From eq. (i) & (ii), we get,

    b + 10 + b = 45 m             ⟹⟹ 2b = 35 m            ⟹⟹ b = 17.5 m

Putting the value of b in eq. (ii), we get,

    a = 17.5 + 10 = 27.5 m

    Thus, the four sides of the park are 17.5 m, 17.5 m, 27.5 m, 27.5 m.

  • Question 7
    1 / -0

The ratio of two adjacent sides of a parallelogram is 4:5. If its perimeter is 72 cm, find its adjacent sides.

    Solution

    Explanation:

Let, two adjacent sides of a parallelogram be of length 'a' cm and 'b' cm respectively.

Given that , Perimeter of parallelogram = 72 cm

    ⟹⟹              2(a + b) = 72cm                  ⟹⟹ a+b = 36 cm       ---------------(i)

    Also, It is given that,    a:b = 4:5                ⟹⟹  a = 4/5b               ----------------(ii)

From eq. (i) & (ii), we get,

    4/5b + b = 36cm              ⟹⟹ 4b + 5b = 180 cm          ⟹⟹9b = 180 cm        ⟹⟹  b = 20 cm

putting value of b in eq. (ii), we get,

    a = 16 cm.

Thus, two adjacent sides of parallelogram are 20cm, 16cm.

  • Question 8
    1 / -0

The quadrilateral whose diagonals are equal and bisect each other at right angle is ________.

    Solution

    Explanation:

A square is a regular quadrilateral which has four equal sides and equal angles each of 900. The diagonals of a square are also equal and  bisect each other at 900.

  • Question 9
    1 / -0

All the angles of a regular polygon are of   ________________.

    Solution

    Explanation:

As we know that, the sides of a regular polygon are equal and also we know, the angles opposite to equal sides are equal. So, all the angles of a polygon are of equal measure.

  • Question 10
    1 / -0

Maximum number of right angles in a right angled triangle are____________.

    Solution

    Explanation:

As we know that, the sum of the three interior angles of a triangle is 1800.

In a right angle triangle, one angle will be of 900. Thus, the remaining two angles should have sum of 900. So, any other angle can not be of 900.

That's why, the maximum number of right angles in a right angle triangle is 1.
