  • Question 1
    5 / -1

Read the given statement and conclusions carefully. Select which conclusion(s) is/are true based on the given statement

    Statements:

    R > M = G < L > S

    Conclusions:

    I. M < S

    II. M < L

    Solution

    Given statements: R > M = G < L > S.

    Conclusions:

    I. M < S → False (As, M = G < L > S → Thus, clear relation between M and S cannot be determined).

    II. M < L → True (As, M = G < L → M < L).

Hence, 'Only conclusion II is follow'.

  • Question 2
    5 / -1

If ‘A’ means ‘÷’, ‘B‘ means ‘×’, ‘C’ means ‘+’ and ‘D’ means ‘-‘ then what is the value of:

    230 A 5 C 6 B 5 D 3

    Solution

    The logic followed here is:

    Decoding the information,

    Symbol

    A

    B

     C

    D

    Meaning

     ÷

    ×

    +

    -

    BODMAS rule table:

    Given the equation: 230 A 5 C 6 B 5 D 3

After replacing the signs in the equation in the place of symbols using the BODMAS rule,

    = 230 ÷ 5 + 6 × 5 - 3

    = 46 + 6 × 5 - 3

    = 46 + 30 - 3

    = 76 - 3

    = 73

Hence, the correct answer is "73".

  • Question 3
    5 / -1

Some equations are solved on the basis of a certain system. On the same basis find out the correct answer from alternatives for the unsolved equation.

    27 × 8 = 5

    125 × 64 = 9

    216 × 125 = ?

    Solution

LOGIC: Cube Root of First Number + Cube Root of Second Number = Third Number

    The logic is given below;

    In 27 ×  8 = 5 →

    In 125 ×  64 = 9 →

    Similarly,

    In 216 ×  125 = ? →

    So, 216 ×  125 = 11

    Hence, Option (2) is correct.

  • Question 4
    5 / -1
Ratio of present age of A and B is 9 : 4. The difference between their ages is 20 years. What will be the sum (in years) of their ages after 10 years?
    Solution

Let the present age of A = 9x

    and present age of B = 4x

    According to question:

    9x - 4x = 20

    5x = 20

    x = 4

    So, Age of A = 9 × 4 = 36 years

    Age of B = 4 × 4 = 16 years

    after 10 years;

    Age of A = 36 + 10 = 46 years

    Age of B = 16 + 10 = 26 years

    Sum of age of A and B = 46 + 26 = 72 years

Hence, "72" is the correct answer.

  • Question 5
    5 / -1

A team of four members is to be formed out of four girls : G1, G2, G3 and G4 and five boys : B1, B2, B3, B4 and B5. Following conditions should be kept in mind:

    I. Minimum two boys should be in the team.

II. If B3 is selected, then G2 will not be selected.

III. G3 and B5 will be in the same team.

Which of the following teams can be formed?

    Solution

    Four girls: G1, G2, G3 and G4

    Five boys: B1, B2, B3, B4 and B5.

    Options: →

  • Question 6
    5 / -1

If '+' stands for '×', '×' stands for '÷', '-' stands for '+' and '÷' stands for '-', what would be the value of the given equation.

    10 + 15 × 3 - 4 ÷ 10 = ?

    Solution

    Given equation is:

    10 + 15 × 3 - 4 ÷ 10 = ?

    Decoding the given information:

    SymbolStands for
    +×
    ×÷
    -+
    ÷-

Substituting the operations in the equation:

    10 × 15 ÷ 3 + 4 - 10 = ?

    BODMAS Rule:

    Using the BODMAS Rule:

    10 × 15 ÷ 3 + 4 - 10

    = 10 × 5 + 4 - 10

    = 50 + 4 - 10

    = 54 - 10

    = 44

Hence, the correct answer is "44".

  • Question 7

Six subjects Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Ecology, Hindi and English are taught from Monday to Saturday. Each day, one subject is taught. Hindi is taught just after Ecology and just before English. Biology is taught after English. Physics and Ecology are taught on Tuesday and Wednesday respectively. Which subject is taught on Monday?
    Solution

According to the given information :

Six subjects Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Ecology, Hindi, and English are taught from Monday to Saturday.

    1) Physics and Ecology are taught on Tuesday and Wednesday respectively.

    DaySubject
    Monday
    TuesdayPhysics
    WednesdayEcology
    Thursday
    Friday
    Saturday

    2) Hindi is taught just after Ecology and just before English.

    DaySubject
    Monday
    TuesdayPhysics
    WednesdayEcology
    ThursdayHindi
    FridayEnglish
    Saturday

    3) Biology is taught after English.

    DaySubject
    MondayChemistry
    TuesdayPhysics

So, Chemistry subject is taught on Monday.

Hence, the correct answer is "Chemistry".

  • Question 8
    5 / -1

If A means '×', B means '+', C means '-' and D means '÷', then what will be the value of the given equation?

    (30 B 6) D 3 C 2 A 5

    Solution

The logic follows here is :

    SymbolABCD
    Meaning× +-÷

    Given equation is : (30 B 6) D 3 C 2 A 5

Replacing the symbols as per given meanings and using BODMAS rule:

    (30 + 6) ÷ 3 - 2 × 5

    = 36 ÷ 3 - 2 × 5

    = 12 - 2 × 5

    = 12 - 10

    = 2

Hence, the correct answer is "2".

  • Question 9
    5 / -1
Five persons A,B,C,D and E are sitting one above the other on a ladder (not necessarily in the same order) B is sitting above A with one person between them. Only two persons are sitting between A and C. If C is not sitting top, then who is sitting in the middle?
    Solution

Five persons A,B,C,D and E are sitting one above the other on a ladder (not necessarily in the same order).

    1) B is sitting above A with one person between them.

    2) Only two persons are sitting between A and C. If C is not sitting top, the figure are given below -

In which there is two case in which first one is -

Second case are given below -

After observation of both cases, B is the sitting in the middle.

Hence, "B" is the correct answer.

  • Question 10
    5 / -1

A statement is given followed by two conclusions. Find which conclusion(s) is /are true based on the given statement.

    Statements:

    K > M < L = Z = O < P

    Conclusions:

    I. P < Z

    II. M = Z

    Solution

    Given statements: K > M < L = Z = O < P.

    Conclusions:

    I. P < Z → False (As, L = Z = O < P → P > Z).

    II. M = Z → False ( M < L = Z → M < Z and L = Z).

Hence, "Neither Conclusion I nor II correct".
