Solution

The force exerted by the magnetic field is perpendicular to the direction of motion of the particle and the direction of the magnetic field. When the particle enters the uniform magnetic field with velocity direction perpendicular to the direction of the magnetic field, it will experience the force due to the magnetic field. It will provide the necessary centripetal force which changes the direction of the velocity, but there is no change in the magnitude of the velocity. So, as the velocity of the particle changes, momentum of the particle changes. As force is perpendicular to the direction of motion, so, the work done by the magnetic force is zero. Hence, there is no change in the kinetic energy of the particle.
