Option (B) \(\rightarrow 25-64 \rightarrow 5^{2}-8^{2}\)

Option (C) \(\rightarrow 9-121 \rightarrow 3^{2}-11^{2}\)

Option (D) \(\rightarrow 168-144 \rightarrow 168\) is not a square of any number and 144 is \(12^{2}\)

All follow the same pattern except ' \(168-144\) '.

The pattern followed here is,

Thus, Fifth term in the given series is "QOL"

Square of the first number and adding 1 is equal to the second number

Let's check each option:

(A) \(9:(9)^{2}+1 \Rightarrow 9: 81+1 \Rightarrow 9: 82\)

(B) \(11:(11)^{2}-1 \Rightarrow 11: 121-1 \Rightarrow 11: 120\)

(C) \(5:(5)^{2}+1 \Rightarrow 5: 25+1 \Rightarrow 5: 26\)

(D) \(7:(7)^{2}+1 \Rightarrow 7: 49+1 \Rightarrow 7: 50\)

Given,

\(2 : 2 ⇒ 2 × (2 ÷ 2) = 2 × 1 = 2\)

\(3 : 9 ⇒ 3 × (3 ÷ 2) = 3 × 1.5 = 4.5 ≠ 9\)

\(6 : 18 ⇒ 6 × (6 ÷ 2) = 6 × 3 = 18\)

The pattern followed is,

(C) GDA → G – 3 = D, D – 3 = A
