  • Question 2
    1 / -0

    A body covers a distance in 3 hr 48 min at 5 km/hr. How much time will it take to cover the same distance at 28.5 km/hr?

    Solution

    as we know, speed= distance/time
    so in first case when speed is 5 km/hr and total time taken is 3 hr and 48 minutes i.e. 3.8 hours

    total distance = speed x time
    so, distance = 5 x 3.8 = 19 i.e. distance covered is 19 km

    now using this distance we can find the time taken in second case as follows:
    now the speed is 28.5 km/hr, so using the relation speed= distance/time once again,we find,

    28.5 = 19/t
    t = 19/28.5 = 0.66 hr i.e. 0.66 x 60 minutes = 40 min
