CBSE 12th : Agriculture Syllabus Updates

Agriculture is one of the optional subjects in CBSE for class 12. By learning agriculture, the candidates will be a part of the development of our country. For the entrepreneurship also, it is a great option. So, there are many students who want to make their future in this field.

The Central Board of Secondary Education has divided the exam into two major parts. The first one is the theory exam and the second one is the practical exam. These parts are also divided into different sections.

THEORY PART

There are a total of three section in this part. The first section is Advanced Crop Production and Organic Farming, second is Post-Harvest Management, Food Processing, and Value Addition and the third section is Subsidiary Enterprises of Agriculture.

The sections ate further subdivided into various units. Section 1 and 2 have two- two units each while in the third section, there is only one unit. So, there are a total of five units in the theory part. The name of the units from one to five are Advanced Crop Production, Organic Farming, Post-Harvest Management, Food Processing and Value Addition, and Subsidiary Enterprises in Agriculture.

CBSE has also defined the number of periods in which the syllabus should be finished. The teachers are advised to complete the syllabus in the suggested number of periods. So, for the first unit, 42 periods have been defined, for the second unit 24 periods, for the third unit 12 periods, for the fourth unit 52 periods, and for the fifth unit, the number of periods is 40.

There are a total of 25 marks for the first section. For the second section, 25 marks are defined and for the third unit 20 marks.

PRACTICAL PART

The theory past is having five section. The sections are Advance Crop Production and Organic Farming, Post-Harvest Management, Food Processing, and Value Addition, Subsidiary Enterprises in Agriculture, Collection and Visit Report, and Viva. There are a total of 30 marks for the practical part. The sections contain the marks 8, 6, 6, 5, and 5 from first to five.
