JEE Advanced Paper Analysis and difficulty level 2023

The JEE Advanced paper analysis 2023 was released by the experts on June 4 , 2023 . Students can check subject wise question paper analysis from the information given below.

 JEE Advanced 2023 Paper 1 Analysis Subject-Wise 

Students reported that the overall difficulty of the paper as moderate to difficult, but not easy. Some students said that Physics was easy, Chemistry was moderate, and Math was difficult.

JEE Advanced 2023 Chemistry Paper analysis

According to students, chemistry was uneven. Inorganic Chemistry contained questions directly from  NCERT . Questions in Physical Chemistry focused on Chemical Kinetics, Ionic & Chemical Equilibrium, Electrochemistry, and Atomic Structure. Thermodynamics (with several questions). In Organic Chemistry, questions were largely asked on Amines, Polymers, Biomolecules, Oxygen-containing Compounds, and certain specified processes. Questions with mixed themes were asked. According to students, this part was rated Moderate. Organic Chemistry is given more weight.

JEE Advanced 2023 Physics Paper Analysis

Chapters such as Kinematics, Thermodynamics, Modern Physics, Capacitors, Current Electricity, Kinematics, Gravitation, Optics, and Electrostatics were given more weightage. According to students, Physics was the easiest of the three subjects. According to the students, this was a balanced section.

JEE Advanced 2023 Mathematics Paper analysis

According to students, mathematics was challenging and difficult. Vectors and 3D Geometry has some difficult and lengthy questions. There were functions, matrices, ellipses, statistics, and probability questions. Some excellent questions were posed from the Probability, Complex Numbers, 3-D Geometry, and Parabola chapters. This portion was the most difficult by students.

JEE Advanced 2023 Paper 2 Analysis Subject-Wise 

Students reported that JEE Advance 2023 Paper 2 was comparatively more difficult to JEE Advance 2023 Paper 1 .

JEE Advanced 2023 Chemistry analysis

According to the students, the difficulty level of chemistry section was medium.

  • Organic chemistry was given greater importance, as it constituted a significant portion of the JEE Advance 2023 paper 2 with approximately 7 to 8 questions. This highlights the significance of understanding organic chemistry concepts.
  • Additionally, the inorganic chemistry section comprised about 5 to 6 questions.
  • Furthermore, the physical chemistry section included 3 questions covering different topics, namely thermodynamics, electrochemistry, and general physical chemistry principles.

JEE Advanced 2023 Physics analysis

The physics section of JEE Advanced 2023 Paper 2 was reported difficult by the students.The physics exam included a variety of topics to assess students’ understanding and proficiency in different areas.

  • These topics included electrostatics, with 1 question focused on the behavior of electric charges at rest.
  • Rotational energy was covered through 2 questions, testing students’ knowledge of rotational motion and energy calculations.
  • The concept of waves was explored with 1 question, evaluating students’ understanding of wave properties and behavior.
  • Thermodynamics was addressed with 1 question, assessing students’ grasp of energy transfer and the laws governing heat and temperature.
  • Kinematics, the study of motion, was represented by 1 question requiring students to apply mathematical descriptions of motion.
  • Units and dimensions, essential in physics, were tested with 1 question to evaluate students’ measurement and dimensional analysis skills.
  • Liquids, their properties, and fluid mechanics were examined through 2 questions.
  • Electromagnetic induction (EMI) was covered in 1 question, focusing on the generation of electric currents through magnetic fields.
  • Modern physics, including quantum mechanics and contemporary theories, was represented by 1 question.
  • Lastly, the topic of optics, involving the behaviour of light and properties of optical systems, was explored through 2 questions.

JEE Advanced 2023 Mathematics analysis

The physics section of JEE Advanced 2023 Paper 2 was reported moderate  by the students.

  • Vector and 3D concepts were covered in 1 question, assessing students’ comprehension of vector operations and three-dimensional geometry.
  • The area under the curve was examined in 1 question, testing students’ ability to calculate the area enclosed by a curve and the x-axis.
  • Integral calculus (IC) was represented by 1 question, evaluating students’ understanding of definite and indefinite integrals and their applications.
  • Differential equations, an important topic in mathematics, were addressed through 2 questions, requiring students to solve and analyze differential equations of different types.
  • Matrices, another fundamental concept, were tested with 2 questions, assessing students’ ability to perform matrix operations and solve systems of linear equations using matrices.
  • Probability, a branch of mathematics with wide applications, featured 1 question, evaluating students’ understanding of basic probability concepts and calculations.
  • Functions, including their properties and graphical representation, were explored through 1 question.
  • Lastly, inverse trigonometry was covered with 1 question, assessing students’ knowledge of inverse trigonometric functions and their properties.
