KVS Admission 2022 : Admission Date in KVS Extended till April 11; Details Inside
Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan has extended the last date for the submission of the KVS Admissions 2022 application forms. Delhi High Court postponed the passing of an interim order after KVS announced its decision to extend the last date for the submission of Class 1 Admission applications in KV Schools. As per the revised dates, the last date for students to submit the class 1 admission applications is April 11, 2022.
The lawyer representing KVS stated that they are prepared to extend the last date for application submission by three weeks. Considering this the Delhi HC has granted the Centre and KVS 10 days to file their counter affidavit.
Age Criteria Issue Must be Sorted Says HC
The Centre, KVS, and Delhi government have also been asked by the Delhi High court to sort out the age criteria since two schools in the same place cannot have two different criteria for admissions for the same class. The court also added that it will not interfere with the NEP 2020 but the minimum age which has to be implemented in schools under the Central Government and Delhi government must be sorted out.
The lawyer representing the petitioners has stated that other schools governed by the central government in Delhi have a minimum age of 5 years for Class 1 admissions while only KVS has changed the age criteria of 6 years.
Petition Filed
The matter has also been listed for further hearing on April 5, 2022, and based on the situation the HC bench will look into passing an order to grant interim relief to the petitioners affected by the age criteria. The petition challenging the KVS admission process was filed after KVS began the admission process for class 1 admissions for the 2022-21 academic session.
It has also challenged the change in the minimum age for class 1 admissions since it is in violation of Articles 14, 21, and 21-A of the Constitution, the Delhi School Education Act, and the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act. The petitioners have also further claimed that no prior notice was issued regarding the revision of the age policy.
