The National Testing Agency has released the city slips for the Sainik School Entrance Exam 2026. Students who applied for this exam can view and download their city slips by visiting the official website of the All India Sainik School Entrance Exam – nta.nic.in/sainik-school-society or www.nta.ac.in.
This exam will grant students admission to classes 6 and 9. Students will be able to use the city slip to determine their exam city and when and how they should prepare to reach there on time.
The Sainik School Entrance Exam 2026 will be conducted in pen and paper mode using OMR sheets at 464 centers located in 190 cities across the country. The exam will be held on January 18, 2026. Students should note that this is not the admit card. The admit card will be issued separately by the NTA at a later date.

A total of 125 questions are asked, and the entire paper is worth 300 marks. Language subjects comprise 25 questions, carrying 50 marks, with each question carrying 2 marks. Maths comprises 50 questions, totaling 150, with each question carrying 3 marks. Intelligence comprises 25 questions worth 50 marks, while General Knowledge also comprises 25 questions worth 50 marks.
Class 9 Exam Pattern: The exam will be conducted only in English medium.
The Sainik School Class 9 entrance exam is conducted only in English medium. Students are given 180 minutes for this exam. A total of 150 questions are asked, and the paper is worth 400 marks. Math comprises 50 questions, carrying 200 marks, with each question carrying 4 marks. Furthermore, Intelligence, English, General Science, and Social Science comprise 200 questions, with each question carrying 2 marks.

In both Class 6 and Class 9 entrance exams, approximately 50 percent of the questions are from Math. Therefore, students with a strong grasp of Math have a higher chance of selection. Students preparing for admission to Sainik School should pay special attention to Math, as this subject plays a key role in success.
What are the Minimum Passing Marks Required?
To pass the Sainik School Entrance Exam, students must score at least 25 percent in each section, along with a 40 percent aggregate. However, this minimum marks requirement does not apply to SC and ST category students.
