NEET 2023 Reservation: For EWS
As per the latest information, there will be a 10% reservation in jobs and education for candidates belonging to the EWS category who fall under the General quota. Individuals who are not covered by the reservation scheme for SCs, STs, and OBCs, and whose families have an annual income of up to Rs 8 lakh, are recognized as EWS for the purpose of reservation. To avail the reservation benefit under EWS, candidates need to produce an Income and Asset Certificate issued by a Competent Authority.
- EWS reservations for the 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats will be implemented in central universities.

Who can’t access the EWS quota?

- To be eligible for EWS, your family should not own a residential plot of 100 sq. yards or more in notified municipalities. (100 sq. yards is approximately equal to 900 sq. ft or 2 cents.)
- To be eligible for EWS, your family should not own a residential plot of 200 sq. yards or more in areas other than notified municipalities.
- The total family income should be less than 8 lakhs. If candidates fall under any of the above instructions, they are not eligible for the EWS reservation category.
