According to the regulations issued by GSHSEB on Thursday, students must have passed the basic mathematics subject in their Class 10 board examination with a minimum of 33 percent marks, excluding any grace marks, to qualify for admission to Class 11.
Since the academic year 2021-22, Class 10 students have been required to take two sets of mathematics subjects – basic and standard.
Moreover, the board has mandated schools to conduct a separate 30-mark test based on the standard mathematics subject to evaluate students' ability and aptitude. The test will comprise 15 multiple-choice questions and 15 subjective questions, with students needing to achieve a minimum of 33 percent marks to be eligible for admission to Class 11 A or AB groups.
Additionally, schools are instructed to arrange personal meetings with students to assess their performance from Classes 6 to 10. Schools are also required to regularly conduct mathematics tests for Class 11 students.
These guidelines must be communicated to parents and students seeking admission to Class 11 Science streams, as per the board's directive.
