PSEB Class 12th Exam 2021 Considering to Hold in Normal Pattern for Only Major Subjects

The Punjab Board of Secondary Education (PSEB) is considering holding PSEB Class 12th Examination for Major Subjects Only. PSEB secretary Krishnan Kumar informed that the board is in the favour of conducting class 12th board examination in a normal pattern but for the major subject only. A few days ago on May 23, Sunday, a high-level meeting was held to discuss the conduction of board exams. 

The center has suggested two options to conduct the examination. In those two options, the Punjab board authority is more inclined to choose the 2nd option.

The second option is to conduct the class 12th exam and change the exam pattern. The changes are that the board should have a 90 minutes time frame instead of 3 hours and the type of questions should be short type and MCQ. 

In the meeting, it was suggested to conduct the exam for only Four major subjects including one language subject. And marks for the rest of the subjects should be given on the basis of performances in the major subjects exam.

But it seems like PSEB is considering holding the class 12th exam for only three subjects. They will include language subjects or not is uncertain at this moment.

Key Points to Notice:

• There are over 3.18 Lakhs students who have registered for PSEB Class 12th Board Exam.

• Exam centers will be allotted within a 3 km of radius from the student’s home.

• Students whose body temperature will increase over the normal temperature will not be allowed to attend the examination.

• The COVID affected students and whose temperature will be more than normal will be given another chance to give their board exam after 2 months of completion of the main exam.

• PSEB 12th exam dates are likely to be announced in June.

Krishnan Kumar said 

“We are considering to hold papers for three major subjects, for instance, physics, chemistry and maths subjects for non-medical students, however, which all subjects come under major subjects and how to formulate marks for the minor subjects are all under consideration."

PSEB Officials said “We are ready to conduct class 12th examination and the question papers are ready. But we are considering the safety of students. Hence the exam will conduct whichever form is considered fit.”

He also added that “we have already 2600 examination centers and the increment of exam centers are in consideration because students will be made to sit six fit apart from each other during the exam.” PSEB Official said while addressing the media.
