CBSE Class 9 Syllabus 2025-26 for Science

Science is a subject which plays a very significant part in developing the well-defined abilities in affective, psychomotor and cognitive domains in the students. It increases creativity, objectivity and aesthetic sensibility.

The latest CBSE Class 9 Syllabus 2025-26 for science has been created around the following themes: Materials, Food, The Living World, Working of the things, people and ideas, natural resources and phenomenon.

Instructructions of the examination

Based on the complete CBSE Class 9 syllabus 2025-26 for science, the annual examination will happen.

The weightage of the annual exam will be 80 marks. For the remaining 20 marks, the Internal assessment for all the students will be taken.

INTERNAL ASSESSMENT

Periodic Assessments:
- For 5 Marks: The school will conduct three periodic tables. After that, the average of the two best tests (weightage of 5 marks) will be taken for the final result of the Internal Assessment.
- For 5 Marks: As per the requirement of the dynamics of the class and the curriculum transaction, the diverse methods of assessment will be taken. The methods will include quizzes, oral tests, short tests, projects, concept maps, PPTs, posters and scientific investigations (enquiry based) etc. and use all the rubrics for objectively arguing with them. These methods will have a weightage of 5 marks for the final result.

Students should maintain the record of all the Practical / Lab work which is regularly done by them the entire year. The practical assessments should be continuous. Towards the final result, there will be a weightage of a total of 5 marks. It should be ensured that all the practicals must be completed which is listed in the syllabus.
The portfolio is to be prepared by the student This work will include classwork and other work done by the students. This will also carry a weightage of a total of 5 marks towards the final result.

The social science of class 9 is a combination of 4 subjects: History, Political Science, Geography and Economics. The subject Economics will be the newly-introduced subjects for all the students in which the students will study about the story of Palampur and other important chapters.
