Who can appear for JNVST Class 9 Exam 2026?

JNVST (Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test) is conducted every year by Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) to provide admission to vacant seats in class 9. Some important eligibility criteria have been fixed for this:

1. Current Academic Status

• The candidate must be studying in class 8 of a recognized school in the academic session 2025-26.

2. District Eligibility

• The student must be a resident of the same district where the Navodaya Vidyalaya is located and where he is applying for admission.

3. Date of Birth Criteria

• The student must be born between 1 May 2011 and 31 July 2013 (both dates inclusive).
• This age limit is same for all categories (SC/ST/OBC/GEN).

4. Condition for Rural Candidates

• Must have studied in a recognized rural area school for at least three years, if applying under rural quota.
