JEE Main 2019: Exam Analysis For Paper 1 (12th April - 1st Shift)

The 1st shift of JEE Main paper 1 has now ended for April 12, 2019. The analysis and reaction of students are provided here on this page.

Level of Difficulty in Each Section: This was the level of difficulty in each section:

Analysis for Physics:

The section was out with maximum questions from CBSE class 11th. There were questions from topics that were also asked previously in this session of JEE Main 2019.

Some repeated topics were Mechanics, Thermodynamics, Optics etc.

Analysis for Chemistry:

Chemistry was found easy by the students. Questions were asked directly from NCERT that made it even easier.

There was a balanced number of questions from organic chemistry. The weightage given to class 11th and 12th were quite balanced.

Analysis for Mathematics:

The mathematics section was lengthy for students to complete in the given time duration. Questions from Calculus and Quadratic Geometry were tricky, whereas, Algebra was easy.

There were no questions from topics like Permutation & Combination and Probability. Although many questions were there from Integration.

Student Reaction:

  • From the Cannizzaro reaction, aldehyde was in the question paper
  • From Organic chemistry, most questions were asked from Aldehydes, Ketone and Carboxylic reactions
  • A question that is generally asked in JEE Advanced 2019, was seen in JEE Main 12 Apr 2019 Shift 1. The question was that as per Newton Leibniz theorem, converts the infinite series to a definite integral series.
  • No repeated questions from January session
  • Students said that Mechanics and Thermodynamics question was tricky in comparison to Electrostatics, Magnetism and Optic.
  • In Physics, there were questions from Mechanic and Thermodynamics. Maximum weightage was of Class 11th syllabus in Physics section.
  • uestions came majory from Binomial, Sequential Series, AY
  • Questions from Permutation & Combinatioon and Probabiloty were skipped in this shift.
  • There were many questions from Integration.
  • From Caculus, and Qudratic Geomtery had tricky questions, whereas, Algebra was easy.
  • Chemistry had very easy questions. Questions were asked directly from NCERT.
  • In Physics, there was one question from Photoelectric effect, one question was that students had to convert galvanometer to voltmeter.
  • There was question from Mirror Formula, Wave Optics, in Physics.
  • In Chemistry, balanced number of questions were asked from Organic
  • In Physics there were questions from 2-D
  • One student said that the difficulty level for JEE Main 12 Apr shift 1 exam was of easy level in comparison to January attempt.
  • In Maths, there were questions from Calculus
  • There were 2 questions from Optics. and 1 from Electrostatics, 2 questions from Thermodynamics.
  • Mathematics was lengthy
  • There was a question from Froth Flotation in the Chemistry section
  • There were equal distribution of questions from Class 11th and 12 in each section
  • Overall the exam was of Moderate difficulty level.
  • Physics was difficult as per a student. There equal weightage from Class 11th and 12th syllabi.
  • The difficulty level for JEE Main 12 April Shift 1 was same as January attempt
