These mistakes usually happen when students rush and try to hold too much in their heads. "Practice drawing every condition and strike it off once you've used it," she suggests.

If your diagram gets messy or confusing, don't push through the chaos. Start fresh. "Redraw messy diagrams instead of forcing them," Professor Sen advises.

The final safeguard is a quick verification check that most anxious test-takers skip. Before moving on, pause to confirm your final grid satisfies every condition in the question. "This habit alone prevents most logical errors," she says.

Professor Sen explains, "Go in with a rough target, but adapt dynamically based on the paper." The real danger is treating that number as a rigid promise.

If the paper turns out tougher than expected, stubbornness can cost you dearly. Use the first ten to fifteen minutes to gauge the difficulty level. Adjust your approach if needed.

"If the first two sets take too long, adjust immediately instead of forcing a plan," she emphasises. Sticking to an old target in a new situation is one of the fastest ways to lose marks.

This flexibility doesn't appear magically on exam day. You build it slowly through consistent mock practice.
