Scholarship Eligibility Criteria Revised: Students Securing 60% Marks In West Bengal Board Exams Eligible For Scholarship Scheme

On Thursday, West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee said the 'Swami Vivekananda Merit-cum-Means Scholarship Scheme’ eligibility criteria has been revised. As per the new eligibility criteria, students securing 60% marks in their West Bengal Board Exams are now eligible for this scholarship.
Earlier the eligibility criteria was 75% but after revising it, it has become 60%. The government has made this change so that more students can take advantage of it.
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee virtually praised at least 1,700 successful candidates of the secondary, higher secondary, and Madrasa examinations on Thursday, September 2, 2021.
All the students were given the laptop, along with the books written by famous authors of Bengal.
The scholarship scheme aims to help deserving students belonging to economically backward families in the state. Under the Scholarship program, the upper ceiling for family income is fixed at Rs 2,50,000 per annum.
