Schools Reopen in West Bengal After 20 Months For Classes 9-12

After a long period of time approx. 20 months later, schools for classes 9th to 12th have been reopened in West Bengal State. Classes for the junior classes have not been reopened for attending the classes in the physical mode, their learnings will be continued by the online method. Moreover, students and parents are very happy over the reopening of the schools for physical classes. State's Education Minister Bratya Basu has said that efforts are on to gradually bring all pupils back to the classrooms.
The Physical classrooms were closed in March 2020 due to the countrywide COVID-19 lockdown. But now after a long time, the schools have been reopened in West Bengal.
As per the schedule announced by the West Bengal state government, Students queued up at school gates across West Bengal since morning. The timing for attending the schools has been given differently for the secondary and higher secondary sections. This step was undertaken to minimize mesh to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
In the schools teachers and staffers welcomed the students with hand sanitizer and thermal screening machine to check their temperature and suggested to wear masks at all times during school hours. The education minister also informed that no students are forced to attend physical classes. It is up to Students and their parents whether they want to attend the offline classes or not.
Caution Has Been Taken
In order to save children from spreading the virus, cautions have been taken. Students are advised to wear masks all the time throughout the school hour, maintain social distancing as much as possible, and don’t share the tiffin box together.
