MP Board Book for Class 9th Science Chapter 3- Atoms and Molecules
This chapter is based on the syllabus of the MP board as in this board usually NCERT syllabus is followed. The name of the chapter is atoms and molecules. In this chapter we will learn the law of chemical combination, law of constant properties, atoms, atomic mass, molecule, molecular mass, many examples are being taught according to what the student has learnt in this chapter.
- During a chemical reaction, the sum of the reactants and products remain unchanged. This is known as the law of conservation of masses.
- Atoms are smaller than anything we can imagine. It can not be seen with a naked eye.
- Molecule is a general group of two or more atoms which are chemically bonded together.
- The chemical formula of a compound is a symbolic representation of its composition.
- The simplest compounds which are made up of different elements are called binary compounds.
- The formula unit mass of a substance is a sum of the atomic masses of all atoms in a formula unit of a compound.
- Mass of 1 mole of a substance is called its molar mass.
