Many candidates who appeared for the Common University Entrance Test (CUET)-UG on Monday alleged that the answers given in the answer key declared by the National Testing Agency (NTA) were wrong.
This challenge was raised by the students after the NTA declared the result incorrect.. The NTA has also announced that it will conduct a retest for CUET-UG candidates from July 15 to 19 if any of the grievances about the exam are found to be valid.

Candidates can challenge the answers online until 5 pm on July 9 by paying ₹200 per answer.
"Sir, I found many errors in the CUET UG answer key and I know that if I challenge all the errors (I think they are errors) then the cost of challenging will be much more than the cost of my CUET application," a candidate named Rishabh wrote on X.

Candidate Bishal Bhowmick said, "When I checked my Geography OMR sheet with the answer key, I was shocked as 80 per cent of the answer keys were incorrect. As per the incorrect answer key provided by the NTA, I got only 26 correct answers, but in reality, I should have got 122. Seventeen of my answers are correct."
Other users on X voiced similar concerns, questioning why they should have to pay to correct the NTA's mistakes. One user stated, "NTA provided so many wrong answers in the key

Congress spokesperson Ragini Nayak highlighted a specific issue from a Psychology paper. In which it was asked that if an accident happens on the road and a lot of people gather at one place then what would it be called.
Though NTA officials did not comment on the complaints received by the agency, candidates claimed that there was time wastage and technical glitches at some exam centres.
"The challenges raised by the candidates will be thoroughly verified by a panel of subject experts and the result will be declared based on the revised final answer key," an NTA official said.
The delay in CUET-UG results is happening amid ongoing controversies over irregularities in other competitive exams like NEET and NET.
The CUET-UG exam, conducted in a hybrid mode for the first time nationwide, was canceled in Delhi the night before the exam due to logistical reasons and was conducted later.
The NTA had previously announced that the third edition of CUET-UG would be completed in seven days, with no score normalization as all exams would be conducted in a single shift.
Exams for 15 subjects were conducted in pen-paper mode and for the other 48 subjects, exams were conducted in computer-based mode.
The first edition of the exam, held in 2022, was marred by technical glitches. Also, as the exam for one subject was conducted in multiple shifts, the marks had to be normalised during the declaration of results.
